So this weekend I decided to take a break.
I put my feet up.
I lay in bed with the electric blanket on while I played silly games on my iPad.
I didn’t get out of bed until 1 o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday.
I played in my 'Dream' glue book.
I read books.
I played in my journal.
I basically arsed about all weekend, and you know what? It was so nice to stop for a minute and just enjoy life in its simplest forms, giving my poor brain chance to open some space for new things.
When I was doing my morning pages I noticed words being formed on the page that didn’t feel like they came from me, as though I’d opened up a little door in my mind allowing something new to come in.
I think sometimes the beauty and magic of playing, taking a break and just sitting with a cup of tea is so powerful that it ought to be on prescription!
So, that’s what I’ve been doing this weekend. I hope that you have been enjoying a bit of play time too, and opened up your own new doors and windows!
Also it’s sort of ties in with a little character that I drew called Becky Huthwaite, who is going out to my patrons tomorrow. Is it synchronicity that I made her? Was it a message to myself to take a break for a couple of days?
She will be available in my Etsy shop to add some magic to your journals and grimoire and going out to Patrons first thing Monday morning. Becky was a manifestation of the joy and the life changing magic of putting the kettle on and having break.
Hope you’ve been able to have a break to, but if you haven’t, why not get up now, put that kettle on and have a nice cup of tea?
Much Love
